Garrick T. Lankford concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters. A significant portion of his practice involves preparation of U.S. and international patent applications. He has prosecuted patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) receiving offices around the world, as well as various Patent Offices in Europe.
He also has extensive experience in trademark filings, both in the U.S. and internationally. He conducts opposition proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
His practice is enhanced by having twenty years of engineering experience in electrical and mechanical engineering positions related to automotive engineering, control systems, magnetics, and sensors.
In addition to prosecuting patents and trademarks, he also has significant patent and trademark litigation experience in venues such as the Northern District of Indiana, ITC, Northern District of Illinois, and Southern District of New York. Patent licensing agreements are an excellent vehicle for patent owners to obtain value from their patents or settle disputes, and Garrick has drafted numerous licensing agreements to help his clients maximize the value of their intellectual property.
